My name is Johnny.
I manage a small, five-man company. Needless to say, everyone has to pull their weight. When you hire someone into a team of 5 people, it becomes obvious really fast whether or not you made a mistake. That's the benefit and curse of a small company. One person can make a huge difference, for good or for bad.
I have conducted hiring successfully in the past, so I know the pain and drudgery of it all. I know what it's like to wade through resume after resume of people who seem to care less about my job opening. I know what it's like to search for the pearls among swine -- the people who really care and really want a job and really want to do a good job. I know what it's like to burn with indignation when people treat you as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you to interview them.
But I also know what it's like to wade through all the crap and come out of the filth with a true gem, a trustworthy and capable employee who actually wanted the job in the first place, and who continues to help accomplish the corporate mission.
I work with people I trust -- people who carry their weight. I hope my insights help you to surround yourself with the same kind of people.
